John is seeking peace as he
faces likely death in prison. The key
question that John asks is on the identity of Christ. Why does having that question settled help provide peace and purpose for all other concerns of life?

the Christian. The place we go for
comfort needs to be informed by John’s
example. When in doubt he took his
concern to Jesus for help. How can you
help your home turn to the Savior in
times of crisis?

When John sought clarity,
Jesus brough him back to the Word. How is your trust in God’s Word leading you to live differently than those around you? How is the world able to notice your trust in God’s Word?

We are told that the Centurion
loved the Jewish nation. Surely he loved them because he loved their God. He sought to bless them in their relationship with God by giving them a synagogue. How does your love of God help others love God better?

It is clear that the Centurion
trusted Jesus with the health of his
servant. Jesus marveled at his faith. How can our homes display a similar faith by bringing our loved ones to Jesus for His care as well?

The book of James reminds
us that “faith without works is dead.” The community around us needs to see our faith at work. Where is God leading you to act in your care for others? What will obedience for you look like this week?
